TeraCortex has a long record in IT consulting and software development. Its founder started in 1990 as free lancing contractor for major European high tech companies and Telco providers, focussing on network management systems and database administration.
From 2000 this was followed by middleware development and mobile subscriber data management.
Based on earlier ideas on neuronal linking of database objects the development of an internet search engine started in 2000 parallel to consulting activities. The database server was designed with explicit support for associative data structures similar to neuronal networks, turning it into one of the first graph databases. This was inspired by the fact that the internet itself can be seen as a collection of associations somehow connected and pointing to each other. Organizing the data according to this topology added learning capability and superfast search responses to the search engine enabling it to run huge loads on small hardware.
Although the search engine did not go to commercial operation its neuronal database laid a solid foundation for a high speed database, In 2012 TeraCortex decided to minimize the consulting business in favor of real time database technology development. The company is independant and works with capital from private investors. Today we provide database products and services for demanding environments like telecomunication, social networks and real time applications.
